“It is not your history but your presence on the mat that matters.” – Sri Krishni Pattabhi Jois
I just got back from a gorgeous weekend away from Lisbon in the adorable city of Sintra. I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of time I have been spending in big cities and needed to disconnect. For me, being able to find quiet moments in nature truly allows me to find a sense of groundedness and re-connect with myself.
Sintra is full of gorgeous greenery, ornate gardens, and castles straight out of a fairy tale.
I took the time to find quiet and journal. I explored the wilderness, the castles, and the city center. Plus, I had the opportunity to film a yoga video for y’all!
My remote year group has decided it is fitness month and I have been working it a bit harder than normal. I am feeling a bit out of whack all over, but mostly in my low back. Back pain is my number one complaint from students, so I wanted to share a practice for releasing tension in the low back and to gently open into the hips.
I hope this helps some of you find relief this week. Let me know what you think <3
